One of the client themes I've encountered lately is that many are feeling a bit lost and swimming in a sea of uncertainty.
There's so much external noise that it's hard
to find the clarity needed to take the next steps.
If that sounds like you, or someone you know,
keep reading.
I once asked a recent client;
who came to me for help with supporting her
through her retirement and next phases
of her life;
"What do you desire?"
(I seem to be attracting many at this point, who are ready to retire within the next few years and while they aren't sure they know what's next, they do know that they want to live a life of meaning and purpose.)
This particular client has had a wonderful and fulfilling career;
but she's ready to make a big change.
Her children are grown and independent, and her husband
is completly supportive of her next steps.
Thing is, she's not sure what she wants.
Each year, she says she's ready- yet she remains
clinging to the old. (familiar, safe)
This week, I'm going to ask you a few questions that might help you gain some clarity on what you really want out of life.
Mind you, these are somewhat big questions
and I want you to allow time and space to ponder the answers.
We are ALL in a sort of liminal space right now
as we witness humanity going through massive changes.
(think of the butterfly still in the chrysalis phase)
So, grab your journal and let's go!
Be specific...
(not just "I want to be happy)
🦋 1) What is that you really want?
(hint, your heart knows the answer)
🦋 2) What one thing would you do if you knew you could not fail?
(What's the first thing that comes to your mind?)
🦋 3) What is currently draining your energy?
(It may be a person/location/part of your home/job)
🦋 4) If you could live anywhere in the world; where would it be?
(who would be with you, what does your home look like?)
🦋 5) What attachments do you have that are no longer serving you?
(think posessions/people/jobs/habits/routines)
🦋 6) Describe your ideal day.
(where are you, what's your morning like, what's the first thing you look at , who is with you, how are you feeling?)
I want you to have fun with this exercise;
it can be very eye opening.
