The Quiet Kind of Courage

The Peace of Wild Things
"When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives might be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water,
and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free."
~From The Selected Poems of Wendell Berry
(Counterpoint, 1999)*
🌞🌞🌞🌞
I'm feeling courageous this week.
Making the decision to rise above the noise
of the world and not give into fear
has been a challenge.
As a human, I recognize the discord that
is happening around the planet,
but as a Spiritual Being;
I know that we are in the thick
of a major transformation.
How about you?
Do you feel the breakdown will lead to a breakthrough?
My courage does have a deeper foundation
and it's important that my roots stay firmly planted
with mother earth-
BUT, all the while, I have a deep faith in the Universe
and that I'm exactly where I'm meant to be.
When I'm nervous, anxious or scared;
I visualize myself handing
these worries over to the Universe.
In fact, over the years;
I've taught this technique to my clients.
Picture yourself
Holding your hands up;
image that your worries are placed within your hands-
gently visualize the hands giving these fears over to the
to Universe
and feel them being lifted away from you.
See them being lifted and carried
away to be transmuted.
I always feel lighter and better afterward;
and when the fears come back
(they sometimes do)
I see them being carried away again.
I share this with you because
my clients have always loved
this exercise and will always share how it has made
them feel so much better.
Even 20 years later, people remind me that I taught
this technique to them and it has stayed with them.
I hope you try it for yourself and
connect with this quiet courage!
✨✨✨
Feeling more courageous yet?
